Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disasters, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
There are several ways you can get involved in OCC at Briarlake Church this year.
1) PACK A BOX - click on the circles above to check out the OCC Website for lots of helpful info OR watch a video about how to pack your shoebox. *Be sure to check out the list of items you cannot pack in your box as it has been updated!
2) VOLUNTEER AT BRIARLAKE COLLECTION SITE - we need your help as we are a collection site for our community to bring their packed shoeboxes. We're looking for friendly hosts to help with this process with different time slots during the week of Nov. 16-23. Click on the circle above to sign up for your volunteer shift. *If you have any questions about volunteering, please email Jim Hersh at firstname.lastname@example.org.
